I assume you have a vehicle? If so, you rent in Alexandria, Va, Bowie, Md, etc. Maryland is always less expensive than Virginia so consider looking there first.
Give your reader a figure you can pay. Rents in DC are out of the ballpark, so everyone shares. Will you share with 1, 2, or 3 roommates? My daughter lived there for 14 years and my son for 6, so I’m not blowing smoke at you.
